The name of the game is double the fun when it comes to this weekend's Beacon Park concert series kick-off.
It was announced Monday that Wild Belle, fronted by Chicago-based sibling duo Natalie and Elliot Bergman, will open for indie-pop favorites JR JR this Saturday, June 16. The concert marks the first of three in a series hosted by DTE's Beacon Park this summer. The show starts at 6:30 p.m.
Wild Belle first hit the scene in 2013 with its polarizing debut record Isles (referred to by NME as Lana Del Lite due to its breezy, pop lethargy). It has been two years since their last record, 2016's Dreamland, which the duo admitted was a difficult recording process. During an interview with the Chicago Tribune, Natalie confessed to making the album's producers cry, going on to say of the production, "it got ugly." The band, however, was praised for the record's peaceful protest track "Throw Down Your Guns."
