Don't know if you saw this or not, but the Monkey Boy (aka The Leader of the “Free” World) was in Nashville the other day to "speak" (if you can call what comes out of his mouth "speaking")...

According to The Tennessean newspaper:

Bush was speaking in Nashville last week. It appears that he doesn't have much familiarity with the city's major industry.

[A recording executive] tested Bush's knowledge of the music industry when he asked whether the president would support a change in the law that would allow performers to collect royalties like songwriters.

"Help," Bush responded to roars of laughter. "Maybe you've never had a president say this. I have no earthly idea what you're talking about.

Contact my office, will you? I'm totally out of my lane. I like listening to country music if that helps."

Reminds me of a poll Blender magazine ran at the beginning of the last presidential campaign in which they asked all of the candidates who their favorite Beatle was. All the responses were what you might probably expect: John Kerry, of course, chose Lennon; Kucinich, I believe, chose Harrison; and -- best of all -- Al Sharpton chose Ringo. But when the pollsters got to our commander-in-chief, they were told by a spokesman that the president (perhaps yours, but certainly not mine) never liked the Beatles. He should be impeached for that alone. Don't know about you but I don't think we should have to live in a country in which its leader doesn't at least have an appreciation for the Fabs.
