Susan Rogers.
What we wouldn’t give to have been in the studio when Prince recorded Purple Rain, or to know what it was like to tour with him as part of his first solo tour sans the Revolution. As a benefit for WDET, Ann Delisi will embark on a conversation with Susan Rogers — Berklee College of Music professor and Prince’s engineer, mixer, producer, and friend. Rogers will take questions, as well as share her incredible and intimate experience of working with the late music legend. As part of the benefit, Yum Village will cater Afro-Caribbean fare.
Ann Delisi's Essential Conversation with Susan Rogers will begin at 6 p.m. on Sunday, May 19, at Willis Show Bar; 4156 Third St., Detroit; 313-788-7469; eventbrite.com; Tickets are $110.
