Following the success of her debut single, "Flowerbomb" (a song Wussy Mag called the 'song of the summer for girls who like girls",) Assemble Sound-produced queer pop angel Siena Liggins makes a swift return with an unexpectedly seductive, sunshiney anthem for both sex and body positivity. And the video will make you happy squirm.
"Every time I see you naked, I want a collaboration," Liggins flirts. The video features a rainbow of women, Liggins, often in the middle and frequently wearing a jersey as if to suggest she is both a player and women's ultimate cheerleader.
Liggins spoke with PrideSource and dished that the song was a bit of a love letter inspired from a real-life relationship with an "obviously pretty" woman and the many insecurities both women faced while trying to instill confidence in one another.
Leading up to the video release, Liggins launched her #LetsGetNaked social media campaign during which she teamed up with female artists Tiny Jag and Jax Anderson of Flint Eastwood, sharing videos to her Instagram account about loving herself and confronting beauty standards.
"Swear to god I'ma thank your mama for how her daughter's head, shoulders, knees, and toes look without no clothes," Liggins sings on "Naked" as she writhes in bed holding a mirror while the gaggle of babes
With creative direction from Liggins herself with Nick Margetic, the rainbow-fueled "Naked" is easily 2018's wonderfully woke response to the now 20-year-old love-yourself-jam "Unpretty" by TLC.
