Listening to this obscure Detroit musician now, and realizing a buddy has reels of unheard live recordings of him, and thinking that I need to hit him up to talk about producing a reissue of those things, assuming they sound anywhere near as good as this. The coffee isn't working yet, though, my brain is not yet awake — so please allow me to be so lazy as to quote the people who reissued this record a few years back, the appropriately named Yoga Records out of Eugene, Ore.
"Ted Lucas flirted with fame in the late 60s in the Spike Drivers and Misty Wizards, studied with Ravi Shankar, went home to Detroit and played sitar for Motown, and recorded his album, referred to by family and friends as The OM Record (after Ted's private label name), in Detroit and Nashville. Today the album is a cult favorite with few parallels."
