This Thursday's Julian Schnabel Penny Stamps talk rescheduled for Nov. 5

Julian Schnabel, who was a big 1980s art star in NYC (he's the guy who made those large scale paintings using broken plates on top of canvas) and later emerged in the 1990s as a surprisingly gifted film director (if you've never seen The Diving Bell and the Butterfly, do so at your nearest opportunity but beware you're going to cry a lot), was supposed to give a lecture at the celebrated, excellent and free "Penny Stamps" speaker series this Thursday, Sept. 17 in Ann Arbor at the Michigan Theatre.

The event has had to be postponed, however, at the last minute. So, in lieu of Schnabel kicking the series off this Thursday, the theatre will screen his 2010 film Miral (for free). And Schnabel will be back on Thursday, Nov. 5 (while the Patricia Urquiola talk originally scheduled for November 5 will now take place as part of the Winter 2016 Penny Stamps series.).
