As was noted on this site several times over the past two months, producer, songwriter and Was (Not Was) cofounder Don Was was recently in town to record and film a slew of new Detroit music for his part of the MyDamnChannel Web site.
Cool excerpts from a majority of this stuff is now up and running, including clips that Don recorded in Ferndale (at Steve King's 54 studio) with Black Bottom Collective (featuring Metro Times' own Khary Kimani Turner), the Ramrods, the Go, Luis Resto, NOMO, Black Merda, the Dave McMurry Trio, and local legend, Mr. John Sinclair. Coming soon (that means any day now) will be numbers by the Sisters Lucas and the Muldoons.
Again, go here (and then scroll down) to view this very cool stuff. And be proud to be from Detroit while doing so! Detroit rocks. As always...
