The Peoples Records on Woodward has closed; all those records at the Gratiot/ MAHS spot now

Peoples has moved! Do not go to the old one on Woodward unless you want to inhale dust, be unable to cross the street, and hear the jackhammers.

Mountains of great records have moved in the last few weeks, from the old spot on Woodward up to the MAHS Museum location at 1460 Gratiot, right next door to the excellent cafe/ venue/ artspace Trinosophes. All the records from both locations will be consolidated into one, and the museum stuff will soon occupy the far rear wall on the right side. The store will often be open during music events next door.

We congratulate Peoples on getting away from Midtown Inc's small business-crushing, years-long buildup along Woodward to ready the installation of People Mover II, which will serve to make a safe little corridor for tourists to travel from downtown hotels over toward the knick-knack shoppes, T-shirt emporiums, lousy coffee spots, discotheques, and bacon-based establishments of New Detroit. 

Eastern Market is a lot better location (at least for now).
