It's hard to say if this is a gesture of corporate goodwill, or a sign that the summer touring scene is so saturated that these shows have suffered from lackluster sales. Whatever the reason, you the consumer can be the winner by getting discounted tickets to the following shows.
The sale runs from July 1-July 5, and some of these are really actually shows you'd want to see. It's not fourth-rate dinosaur acts, it's Neil Young, Alice Cooper, Smashing Pumpkins, Kelly Clarkson, and Run DMC. Sweet.

AUBURN HILLS, Mich. – Palace Sports & Entertainment (PS&E) and Live Nation are offering big savings on concerts at The Palace of Auburn Hills, DTE Energy Music Theatre and Meadow Brook Music Festival beginning this Wednesday, July 1 at 12:01 a.m. through Sunday, July 5 at 11:59 p.m. with the “Summer Ticket Blitz.” All tickets for the “Blitz” are $20 and will provide savings of up to 50% and give concert fans the opportunity to experience some of the summer’s hottest shows coming July through September.
The specially discounted $20 tickets will be available for purchase beginning this Wednesday, July 1 at 12:01 a.m. at Livenation.com, Palacenet.com, The Palace and DTE Energy Music Theatre Ticket Stores and all Ticketmaster locations. Tickets may be also charged by phone to American Express, Discover, Visa and MasterCard by calling 800.745.3000.
