Some kinds of music are made for summer, and I'd slot the exceptional garage-pop of Tempe's Numb Bats firmly in that made-up category, "summer music." You can listen to them whenever you like of course, but they're playing Lager House this Sunday as part of yet another solid Seraphine Collective showcase. Seraphine consistently put on some of the best shows around, as i'm sure you know. At this point, their imprimatur should be all you need to know that an event is worthy of your time and money.
I was tipped to this show a week ago by Tim from Tin Foil, who sent such a nice note and it's not liek an average PR thing at all, so here is most of his note, OK:
Really good show coming up on Sunday, August 2nd at the Lager House. My friend Sophie from Tempe Arizona plays bass in this band, Numb Bats
I've been keeping up on them for the last few months, they've been touring the west coast pretty regularly and it seems to be working alright for them. This is their first time out to the Midwest, and I'm trying to get the word out. I have yet to see them live, but I've seen with Sophie's solo projects, she's got that Real stage presence. I'd expect that'll shine through as just a bass player and backup vocalist as well.
Also, my band Tin Foil is on the bill, along with Bloodstone and Best Exes, it's 6 bucks. A Seraphine Collective show.
