Fuzz Fest 5 headliners, Tart, photo by Dan Cox
Only 550 more days until America can elect someone to replace the flapping orange windbag that is President Donald Trump — and Detroit energetic glitz-and-gloom group Tart is among those counting down.
Since best friends-turned-roommates-turned-lovers-turned-bandmates
Zee Bricker and Adam Michael Lee Padden added drumming virtuoso Donny Blum (the Von Bondies) in 2017, Trump had already tainted the news cycle and Twittersphere with his
Diet Coke-addicted bombast and lies. The band's latest single, "Runnin' Yr Mouth" takes on Trump and his fake news cohorts.
Against frenzied drums and guitar, Bricker's signature vocal eruption is front and center on "Runnin' Yr Mouth," sliding between a sardonic drawl and audible sneers. Tart's frontwoman says it best: "Blah, Blah, Blah."
