Record Review: Jack White — Lazaretto

Jack White
Lazaretto
Third Man

At this point, it’s clear that Jack White is not a man who likes to stand still. Throughout his time with the White Stripes, the Raconteurs, and the Dead Weather (among a few others), the one constant has been his desire to look to the past and pull new noises out of old ghosts. Those old trademarks are very much present on Lazaretto, although sonically this is a very different album when compared to anything saucy Jack has put his name on in the past. While there are moments of manic energy, White has proved here that he is well capable of sincere, true blues and country music.
