Remember Dej Loaf? The Detroit rapper made waves in 2014 with her instant-YouTube hit "Try Me," and soon she was featured on Eminem's massive "Detroit Vs. Everybody" and invited to join Nicki Minaj on tour, among plenty of other references that kept her in the pop culture lexicon. However, while Dej's no-fucks-given tomboyish style earned her plenty of admirers, hip-hop media became mired in endless speculation about her sexuality, and for a moment it seemed like Dej might fizzle.
The good news is she has been at work on her debut LP, Liberated, expected later this year on Columbia. And the rollout seems to be moving forward. Earlier this month, Dej released Liberated's lead single, "No Fear." Today, she unveils a video.
