Rapper Chamillionaire says he wants to help the Lincoln Park family whose father was recently deported

The same man responsible for injecting “Ridin’ Dirty” into our common vernacular back in 2009 is now making an effort to offer financial assistance to the family of Jorge Garcia — a 39-year-old Michigan father and husband who was deported this week by ICE.

The Houston rapper, Chamillionaire (born Hakeem Seriki), reached out to Free Press staff writer Niraj Warikoo after reading his article, which detailed the story of Garcia’s deportation.

"This is not a joke," Warikoo tweeted, "I actually got an email from rapper Chamillionaire."

"I'm a musician and tech investor and I'm looking to talk to them to see how I can help with financial support in Jorge's absence," Seriki said in his email.

Garcia, a landscaper from Lincoln Park, has lived in the U.S since the age of 10. But due to insufficient documentation and President Trump's decision to end DACA last September, an immigration judge ordered his deportation.

The emotional separation from his wife and two children, (all of whom are U.S citizens), were documented in Warikoo's article where it is also revealed that the Garcia family have spent $125,000 in legal costs since 2005.

The email address, as noted by another Warikoo tweet, "came from has the same address as Chamillionaire’s website, so it appears to be real."
