Heads up: Local hip-hop duo Passalacqua are set to drop a new EP, titled Banglatown, on April 14. You can pre-order it for a cool $3 over at tomandbootsy.com, where you can also stream a selected track, "At the Party." In typical Passalacqua fashion the track exudes the duo's sense of humor and slick beats, this time over a funky bassline and a flute sample that should help get you amped up for the next soirée.
For more Passalacqua, head over to our sister paper Cleveland Scene for a recent feature on the guys. The duo are currently on tour as part of the "Rap Round Robin 2015," which hits Detroit on Saturday, April 11 at PJ's Lager House. The idea is simple, meant to kill the down time of live music shows. There's three touring acts, three local acts, no headliners or openers, and three stages set up around the perimeter of the room. Touring acts are Passalacqua, and Baltimore's Height Keech and Eze Jackson, while the local support comes from Doc Waffles x Eddie Logix, Cold Men Young, and Gosh Pith. Tickets are $5, 21 plus only.
