First of all, it goes without saying that Nymphetamine is the undisputed heavyweight album title of the year. This is the kind of magnificent moniker that should have adorned a 1967 AIP sexploitation movie written by Lou Reed and directed by Russ Meyer.
And speaking of movies, y’know that scene in The Wizard of Oz where Dorothy heaves a bucket of water at the wicked witch? Remember how she hideously shrieks, “I’m mellllting,” over and over as she dissolves into a steaming gob of green goo? Well, if you can imagine that exact same shrill voice being backed by a double-time black metal version of KMFDM, then you’ll have a pretty good idea of the kind of meloscreamatic gothic goulash that head Cradle robber Dani Filth has served up for COF’s 10th anniversary offering.
But if your imagination doesn’t extend out to the suburbs of sanity, let’s just say it’s not every day you get to hear a song called “Gilded Cunt” and leave it at that.
