Few rock relationships are as contentious as the one between Oasis brothers Liam and Noel Gallagher. Well, since leaving Oasis behind in 2009, Noel is singing a different tune with a new flock. Noel Gallagher’s High Flying Birds fly high above the “Wonderwall” with 2017’s psychedelic rock record Who Built the Moon? Though released only a month after brother Liam’s solo record (savage!), Who Built The Moon? finds Noel singing of beautiful worlds, holy mountains, and reaching for higher ground. A change of heart? Not likely. A dynamic rock record full of funk and angst? Absolutely.

Noel Gallagher's High Flying Birds will play the Masonic Temple on Friday, Feb. 9; Doors open at 8 p.m., 500 Temple Ave., Detroit; 313-638-2724; themasonic.com; Tickets are $35-$75.
