The Grasshopper Underground in Ferndale is usually known for being packed on the weekends, booking the hottest DJs and blasting music out onto Woodward Avenue. A great venue to dance to DJ Assault, but not for having an intellectual conversation about music. On Monday nights, though, they're trying something a little different with a new networking night for music professionals.
The event promises a playlist of music created by attendees, workshops and more. From the Facebook page:
Every Monday at The Grasshopper Underground, we'll be running a playlist of music submitted to [email protected]. No restrictions on genre — as long as it sounds cool, and it was created by you, we'll play it.We'll also be offering occasional music workshops, at which qualified music professionals will share their unique perspectives. If there's something you'd like to learn about (Ableton Live, Promotion, Booking), or someone in particular you'd like to hear speak, simply comment with your suggestions on this event page.
Our goal for this night is to make it exactly what you want it to be. Detroit has a lot of creative individuals, and we're very excited to provide them a place to connect, interact, and get some cool things started.
