Congratulations to Detroit area singer-songwriter Angela Predhomme, who recently won finalist placement with her original composition in a major international song contest that featured none other than Paul McCartney as a judge. Other judges for this "Song of the Year" competition included Sting, Rihanna, Faith Hill and George Strait (that's quite an eclectic assotment). Predhomme's song, "This Might Be Good," was chosen as one of four finalists in the adult contemporary category from entries from around the world. It was produced in Ferndale at the Tempermill studio. You can hear the song -- and more of her tracks -- at her MySpace page by clicking here.
And Bobby Emmett -- who recorded one of our favorite local indie albums, Learning Love, late last year -- can be seen on The Tonight Show with Jay Leno Show tomorrow night, Tuesday, March 30th. Of course, Bobby will be appearing as the keyboardist in Waylon's son Shooter Jennings' band -- which is sort of his "day job" these days...but that's a pretty cool feather in the cap for any musician from Detroit, right?
And, finally, MT always loves it when local bands give us and/or one of our writers kudos when they're performing live...so we got a big kick out of this youtube video featuring, um, Detroit's "greatest bar band" (we kid, we kid...well, maybe...) Enjoy!
