Well, it certainly looks like her ... but the White Stripes' publicist is claiming that the woman featured in the "Meg White sex tape" unleashed on the Internet this weekend is not actually Meg at all. In a statement, Chloe Walsh said: "Some people have a very twisted sense of humor and this prank is in particularly bad taste." Despite the uncanny resemblance (although many have already questioned why the world-famous drummer would choose to engage in recreational activities in what looks like a funky college dorm room), Walsh categorically denies Meg's involvement in the tape, stating: "The tape circulating on the internet as featuring Meg White is fake. It's definitely not Meg."
Whatever the case, the video has offered ammunition to plenty of bloggers to post corny "rhythm" and "Icky Thump" jokes over the past six hours or so.
In other, somewhat less "sexy" Stripes news, leader Jack White made a surprise unannounced appearance onstage during Bob Dylan's show at Nashville's historic Ryman Auditorium last Wednesday night (Sept. 19th). The guitarist came out with an electric guitar to perform "Meet Me in the Morning," a track from Zimmy's classic Blood On the Tracks LP, with the rock bard and his band. Jack provided most of the vocals untill the end, when Dylan joined him to duet on the final verse. Elvis Costello was also an unannounced opening act at the Nashville show. Although Costello is scheduled to open many upcoming shows for Dylan, he wasn't scheduled for Nashville but showed up anyway, kicking off the concert with a nine-song acoustic performance that included "(The Angels Wanna Wear My) Red Shoes," "(What's So Funny 'Bout) Peace, Love & Understanding" and "Veronica."
Elvis will be opening for Dylan, along with Amos Lee, when the tour hits Ypsilanti on the Eastern Michigan University Campus on Friday, October 12th.
