The older we get, the lamer birthday parties become — mostly because we would rather be in bed at a reasonable hour and hangovers have become far worse.

Despite this, Lansing-based concert promoters Fusion Shows will celebrate turning the big 1-1 with a blowout bash worth staying awake for. Since its inception, Fusion Shows has aimed to promote independent artists and local venues, all while keeping events affordable and accessible to all. The birthday bill boasts 15 artists including headliner Michelle Zauner’s solo experimental-pop project Japanese Breakfast, with support from Charly Bliss, Shortly, Foxing, FADE, Kimball, and Olivia Millerschin.

Fusion Shows' 11th Birthday will take place starting at 6 p.m. on Saturday, Jan. 12 at the Crofoot Complex; 1 S. Saginaw St., Pontiac; 248-858-9333; thecrofoot.com; Tickets are $23.
