There's always been something about Lady Te that exudes the confidence and moxy of a person who's going to make it in the music world no matter what. The Cass Tech graduate and Wayne State University student had one hell of a summer, winning a handful of key hip-hop showcases in New York including two rap battles on BET.

It's one thing to get invited to perform on BET's "Wild Out Wednesdays" twice but to come out winning both times is no small feat. She also won a female rap battle showcase at NYU over the summer as well. If winning really is contagious, she's got it.

With all of that New York success coming her way this summer, it's not surprising that Manhattan is the backdrop for Lady Te's latest video, "Never Dreamed." The vid starts out a little flashy -- you know Detroiters, we like to show out a bit -- but Lady Te does a good job of settling everything down and switching settings from the glitz of New York to the Financial Aid office at Wayne State. Big dreams, sure. But she keeps it real, and that's why her persona is so appealing. Check the video below, which she produced herself.
