Detroit-based singer/songwriter Jessica Hernandez and her backing band, The Deltas, recently announced their debut full-length album will drop August 19 via Instant Records.

While the album was originally slated to be named Tarantula Mansion and to be released in March, this album's name has been announced as Secret Evil, in keeping with the band's 2013 EP Demons, and won't hit shelves until late summer.

Working with Grammy award winner Milo Froideval, the band promises to deliver a mix of rockabilly, jazz, raggae, gypsy pop, and latin psych on this album. And from the sounds of the first single, the record promises to be dark, funky, and impeccably well produced.

Hernandez was formerly signed to Blue Note Records, but after the label was purchased by Universal, she was released of her contract. She and her band then spent time on a Texas pecan farmhouse, which was affectionately referred to as the Tarantula Mansion by the group, where they worked on new material.

The first single from Secret Evil is now available via Paste Magazine. The track, "Tired Oak", features Hernandez signature strong, soaring vocals and thumping drums.
