Jack White has previewed another track from his forthcoming third solo album, Boarding House Reach. On Wednesday, he shared a song called "Ice Station Zebra" on Beats 1 radio — which might be the most rap-rock-sounding track in his oeuvre, with its hip-hop beat and rapid-fire vocal delivery.

As White explained on the show, the song was the result of a planned collaboration with Jay-Z that was never completed.

"A couple years ago I had worked on a few tracks with Jay-Z — we were going to do an album together, just never culminated, and we didn’t finish," he explained. "But that was something I played drums, piano, guitar, and bass on as an idea for him to maybe spur him on to inspire him and do something."

Boarding House Reach is out on Third Man Records on Friday, March 23. You can listen to "Ice Station Zebra" below. White will perform at Detroit's Little Caesars Arena on Thursday, April 19.
