Flying Saucer Attack was/ is the heavy ambient-drone project of David Pearce, who sometimes had other people in the band though not always. FSA started in Bristol, UK in 1992. Word on the street is that Pearce suffers from rather severe agoraphobia. I hope that wherever he is and whatever he's doing, that he's OK! His music is uniformly great.
