Most of us believe that Mayor Kwame Kilpatrick is bad news...but local Detroit hip-hop artist The Virus firmly believes the Mayor was involved in the highly-publicized murder of the stripper named Strawberry...and that Kwame's administration covered the whole mess up.

Hopefully, the truth will eventually come out in the wash (to use an old cliche), but Fox 2 News seems to believe the song is newsworthy.

"He's supposed to be the hip-hop Mayor," says the rapper's executive producer Jerome Almon. "Well, he took it too literal and went 'gangsta' on us."

According to the Virus and his producer, both the Brothers Johnson (who recorded "Strawberry Letter 23," the cover version of the Shuggie Otis song that the new hip-hop track samples), as well as Quincy Jones (who produced the Bros. Johnson hit), immediately approved the rapper's cause and new track.

The Virus plans to shoot a video for the song at the city's County Building, as well as the Manoogian Mansion and the bars that Strawberry frequented, sometime next week. You can watch the full Fox News report here.
