Heading to Coachella this weekend? Make sure you see Detroit's Belleville Three

Ahh, Coachella. What was once a music festival that explored the depths of alternative and indie rock (but let's be honest, it still does that to an extent) is now a double weekend music festival where most are concerned with spotting a celebrity than catching Radiohead's headlining set.

But despite the craze that Coachella brings along now, they still know how to put together a damn good lineup. Heavyweights like Kendrick Lamar, Lady Gaga, and Radiohead have the top spots while undercard acts like Tennis, BANKS, and Father John Misty are all sprinkled throughout the lineup to satisfy any genre of music that you could be craving.

One act in particular on the lineup kind of came out of nowhere and has some serious Detroit connections, though. The Belleville Three, composed of Detroit's own Juan Atkins, Derrick May, and Kevin Saunderson, will bring Detroit techno so SoCal and we are so fuckin' jealous that we won't be there to witness it.

The Belleville Three is basically a supergroup composed of these infamous Detroit DJs. These three invented the Detroit techno sound and each perform solo pretty often. But when they join forces you know the funk is about to drop. May once even described their sound as "George Clinton and Kraftwerk stuck in an elevator.”

The Belleville Three play at 3:20 on Sunday at the Yuma stage during the Coachella Music and Arts Festival in Indio, California. Prepare to dance your live away, y'all.

If you want to catch the Belleville Three in Detroit, they are playing a show at the Masonic Temple on May 27 as a part of a Movement after show.
