Radio DJs Origix and D.C. have been rockin’ indie airwaves for nearly three years, playing the hottest hip-hop records from Detroit and the Midwest. Known for their willingness to support local artists that mainstream radio stations ignore, Origix and D.C.’s weekly show The Zone (WHFR 89.3FM) has become a hip-hop staple throughout Michigan. Without funds to compete with corporate pigs and bigwigs, WHFR survives off public support. This week, The Zone is hosting a live Radiothon for WHFR, a benefit featuring live performances of the brilliant music that wack-ass radio stations are too pussy to play.
