Cool show tomorrow night (October 30th) celebrating the 40th anniversary (to the day) of the release of one of the greatest and most important albums to ever come out of this city, the MC5 's Kick Out The Jams. The show at the Crofoot also marks the release of Detroit Music Revolution: Rock 'n Roll, Volume 1, a 14 track CD featuring most of the performers scheduled to perform at the show, including the Muggs, the Orbitsuns, Paper Street Saints, Powertrane, 60 Second Crush, Critical Bill, Lies Unknown, Overloaded, Soul Circus, Ray Street Park, Ingray, Mazinga, Stellar Drive, Smoking Moses, Pillar of Autumn and Duende. The show's hosted by one-time MC5 manager, and MC legend John Sinclair, and will feature an appearance by MC5 biographer and MT contributor Brett Callwood.
Speaking of old-timers and old-timer commingling in a love fest, Jack White will join Jimi Hendrix as the two latest addition to the Guitar Hero phenom, as the Raconteurs and Jimi Hendrix become the latest downloadable content for the new Guitar Hero® World Tour.. In their first videogame appearance in a videogame, the Raconteurs -- described as "charismatic rockers" in the press release, will make "Salute Your Solution,” “Hold Up” and “Consoler of the Lonely," all from the Consolers of the Lonely. album, available on November 20th.
