Tonight, Wed., Nov. 11, at 8 p.m., MOCAD is screening what looks to be a great peek into the origins of industrial music, Industrial Soundtrack for the Urban Decay. When you see Sordide Sentimental in the list there, you know these people have a clue what they're doing. Put on your best dress blacks before you head out the door.
The film was made by Amélie Ravalec & Travis Collins. It traces the origins of the music, "taking you on a journey through the crumbling industrial cities of Europe to America's thriving avant-garde scene." Among those featured in the documentary are Throbbing Gristle, Cabaret Voltaire, NON, SPK, Test Dept, Clock DVA, Re/Search - V Vale, Z'EV, Click Click, Sordide Sentimental, Hula, The Klinik, Ant Zen, Orphx, In The Nursery and Prima Linea.
