“Are we good?” singer-songwriter and former Fiery Furnaces vocalist Eleanor Friedberger begs on her Arcade Fire-esque, lament-heavy fourth record.

Since her progressive sibling duo disbanded in 2011, Friedberger has churned out a slew of indie pop records which offer a micro-view on her inner workings. 2018 finds Friedberger questioning just about everything on a macro level on Rebound, where she details the complicated lament that comes with being a post-2016 election expat living in Greece. Rebound flirts with a space between dancey David Byrne-style observations and her continued landscape of self-investigation. Pill and Sara Marie Barron support.

Eleanor Friedberger will perform wsg Pill and Sara Marie Barron at 8 p.m. on Saturday, Oct. 6 at El Club; 4114 W. Vernor Hwy., Detroit; 313-279-7382; elclubdetroit.com; Tickets are $15.
