Detroit's Deadbeat Beat premieres new single 'Bar Talk'

Maria Nuccilli, Alex Glendening, and Zak Frieling are Deadbeat Beat — Detroit's feel-good, Baby Spice obsessed lo-fi trio. They dropped Metro Times' favorite track of 2017 and decided to share their latest track "Bar Talk" with us.

A sonic hair of the dog, "Bar Talk" finds the threesome reprising their knack for speckled sunshine and pulsing, low-key anxiety.

Just under five minutes, "Bar Talk" takes a turn halfway through and slows itself down. "I can try to not be high and open wide," Glendening claims just before the track releases itself into the airy ether of "one more drink" territory.

Like a case of the barstool spins with a guiding hand against a wall headed for the bathroom (any bathroom) Deadbeat Beat continues to do what they do best — staying effortlessly cool and unabashedly self-aware.

Deadbeat Beat will embark on a mini-jaunt before returning home to play with Hunx & His Punx for John Waters pre-birthday festivities.
