This must be the place — rather, the Fox Theatre will be the place on Aug. 10 because rock 'n' roll's most beloved weirdo is hitting the open globe.

David Byrne has announced an extensive 2018 world tour. Kicking off in New Jersey on March 3, the tour will venture to South America and Europe, and will swing back through North America after having sold-out most of his U.S spring dates.

This comes after the recent announcement of Byrne's forthcoming record American Utopia due out March 9 (Todomundo/Nonesuch Records) and the release of the album's first single "Everybody's Coming to My House." This marks the artist's first solo LP in 14 years.

"This is the most ambitious show I've done since the shows that were filmed for Stop Making Sense, so fingers crossed," Byrne said of the tour in a statement on his website.

Joined by a twelve-piece band Byrne will perform songs from the new record but we can expect to hear classics from his solo career and, of course, a slew of hits from his Talking Heads days.

Tickets will go on sale Friday, Jan. 19 at 10 a.m. and can be purchased at 313Presents.com, LiveNation.com, as well as Fox Theatre and Little Caesars Arena box offices.
