On June 15 at Callahan’s, Rio & Her Rockabilly Revival will team up with Carolyn Striho for an awesome female dual billing.

According to the press release, “Headliner Rio Scafone’s rockabilly roots run deep. As the niece of rockabilly legend Jack Scott, she carries on the family tradition by serving up a heaping dose of red hot spitfire rockabilly and grassroots rock n roll. Her band, the wildly popular, Rio & The Rockabilly Revival has taken the Roots rock scene by storm. Often called a female J.D. McPherson, she is a dynamo on stage, whose performances along with The Revival have been described as a combination of “nostalgic performance art, killer show band and rock n roll wonder” (Brett Callwood-Detroit Metro Times - AHEM).
Regarded as one of the city’s best singer/songwriters, Striho made her name fronting the Detroit Energy Asylum and for her work with Patti Smith. As a solo performer, she has gained a reputation for mesmerizing and evocative stage performances. Backed by her award winning band, her live shows have been hailed as both moving and memorable.”
