FUR just can’t stay off our TV screens. After getting two songs played during the first season of acclaimed Showtime drama Homeland (“Break Me, My Love” and “Pan/Op”), the premiere of a new Fox show called The Finder will feature the song “Here’s to the Angels”.

That is quite an achievement. FUR is a fantastic band and there is no doubt that they deserve it, but still, many great bands have struggled to get even one song placed on a TV show. Three in a year on two different shows is almost unprecedented for an unsigned band. We should note that the second season of the awesome Shameless has just started, and Detroit’s High Strung provide the main theme.

But back to FUR. According to a statement, “After recently recording 12 new tracks at Tempermill Studio in Ferndale the band is in the initial mixing stages of its debut LP. A late Spring vinyl release date is anticipated. Upcoming shows include the 7 year itch celebrating the anniversaries of MotorCityBlog.com and MostPeopleAreDjs.com. This show is a benefit for the Michigan Humane Society and will take place in the Jazz Cafe at the Music Hall Center for Performing Arts Detroit with Legendary Creatures, Phantom Cats & I Love Lightning Bugs.”

Much to look forward to then.
