This Saturday, October 12, the Fallout Fest takes place at the New Dodge Lounge in Hamtramck. The action starts at 4 p.m., and cover is $5-$10 depending on how old you are and when you arrive.
The lineup is awesome and eclectic, showcasing some of the best new bands in Detroit right now. Highlights include Pool, the Vonneguts, George Morris, the Handgrenades, the Kickstand Band and Mexican Knives.
Also performing is Laura Finlay, who we recently spoke to prior to her appearance at Dally in the Alley.
“I’m not trying to copy anybody’s style, but Jessica Hernandez does a similar thing and Loretta Lucas is pushing into a little more of a jazz-type thing,” Finlay told us. “I’ve definitely had people tell me that it’s not common and I have a really good hold on the throwback sound. Like I said, I want to make it more experimental. I did folk, I did jazz, I did rock and now it’s time for me to do something else. Hopefully, it’ll all melt together.”
