The Candy Band has announced that October 1st will see the first annual Bestest Concert Ever at the Royal Oak Farmer’s Market between 5-8 p.m. Admission will be $5 per person.

For that five bucks, there will be four bands, food, drinks, crafts, mini bowling, rock star photos (complete with hair stylists on hand), and an instrument petting zoo. A portion of the proceeds will benefit the Boys and Girls Club and Royal Oak Youth Assistance.

The musical entertainment comes courtesy of the Candy Band, the 3-D Invisibles, Rhymezwell and Mr. Seley and the Troublemakers. The Candy Band, of course, are well known for playing punk rock for kids. Their manic cover of the Spongebob Squarepants theme is a live favorite.

The 3-D Invisibles have been playing monster-themed surf rock for decades, while Rhymezwell is a rapping nursery school teacher, and Seley writes and records music for kids when he isn’t teaching the 3rd and 4th grade from Birmingham.

The event is certain to be tremendous fun for the kids, but also full of curiosities for the parents.
