WDET's Chris Campbell, host of the popular electronic music show
the Progressive Underground, will celebrate his recent milestone of 100 episodes from 7 p.m. to midnight on Sunday, Dec. 7 at
Cliff Bell's, 2030 Park Avenue, Detroit.
The night will feature performances from Amp Fiddler and Brandon Williams, sets by DJ Bruce Bailey, and a fashion show by Fotoula Lambros of Lambros Design. Campbell, of course, will also be present to celebrate.
“The Next 100’ is intended to celebrate our reaching 100 episodes, but this is very much an evening dedicated to our listeners,” Campbell says in a release. “They have supported this show from the very beginning and have given us the motivation to keep building on to what we do. WDET has the best fans – hands-down. They are open to new musical ideas and constantly push us (music hosts) to present the best musical experiences on the airwaves. I’m so thankful that the station supported presenting a celebration that is a fitting musical ‘thank-you’ to fans of the show.”
In a previous interview with
MT's Brett Callwood, Campbell noted his show — which regularly plays Detroit techno alongside house, soul, acid jazz, and other cuts — attracted a global audience this year. Read Callwood's full interview with Campbell
