Clearly one of the best bands in town these days, Casual Sweetheart just keep getting better all the time. If you’re a nerd, imagine Look Blue Go Purple in the studio with Mayo Thompson in 1978. If not, it’s pure pop for now people with a sort of careening, seesaw vibe that’s equal parts post-punk and garage-pop.
As is typical for a Seraphine show, the lineup is varied and excellent, with Chicago’s Lala Lala and Reno’s Surf Curse.
Saturday, 8/20; Doors at 9 p.m.; 2110 Trumbull Ave., Detroit; ufofactory.com; $7.
