Cardi B isn't coming to Detroit with Bruno Mars after all. But she's got a damn good reason to cancel.
The 25-year-old rapper announced her pregnancy during a performance on Saturday Night Live in April. Since then the Invasion of Privacy star has taken to social media to share everything from odd pregnancy cravings, exhaustion, and iconic baby-bump fashion realness. And of course, she shared with the world when she and husband Offset welcomed their daughter Kulture Kiari Cephus on July 10.
"I underestimated this whole mommy thing," Cardi said in a statement released to Twitter Thursday night. "As of today, I've decided I won't be joining Bruno on tour this fall. I thought that after giving birth to my daughter that six weeks would be enough time for me to recover mentally and physically."
Cardi B was set to perform with Bruno Mars as part of his "24K Magic Tour" at Little Caesars Arena on Sept. 15 and 16. Far from being upset, the "Marry You" singer responded with some loving words for mama Cardi and company.
"Most important thing is you and your family's health," he said. "I know the fans will understand. You are absolutely doing the right thing. I also know we'll share the stage when the time right. We love you Cardi and we will play 'Bodak Yellow' every night in your honor."
