A lot had to happen before twin brothers Amiri and Rahiem Taylor could release their debut record as psychedelic rock five-piece Blac Rabbit. For one, they received the Beatles Rock Band game as a gift and it cracked their worlds wide open. Then they began performing in NYC subways, crooning to commuters with harmonization and Beatles covers. It wasn’t until 2018 when one passerby recorded the duo performing “Eight Days a Week” that they would go viral. The video landed them an appearance on Ellen DeGeneres’ talk show, an ad campaign with Harry Styles and Gucci, and performed alongside Yoko Ono and Ringo Starr for a John Lennon Educational Tour Bus event. Michigan Left and Beartrap are also on the bill. Blac Rabbit will perform at 7 p.m. on Wednesday, April 3 at PJ's Lager House; 1254 Michigan Ave., Detroit; 313-961-4668; pjslagerhouse.com; Tickets are $10.
