The UFO Factory, a popular music venue and bar in Corktown was severely damaged Wednesday morning by a construction crew working on a nearby $45 million development.

Club owner Dion Fischer told MT that the venue is closed until further notice and could possibly be condemned by the city.

People in the local music scene have rallied together to throw a benefit night at Southwest Detroit's El Club to raise money for the employees who are now out of a job.
The event goes down Monday, August 7 at El Club, 4114 Vernor Hwy, Detroit. Cover is free to get in but they are asking for any kind of donation to be made. You will get to hear DJ sets from artists who regularly play at UFO Factory and want to help out. You'll get to hear Brad Hales of Peoples, Justin Carver and members of the Something Cold crew, DJ Sisteranna, DJ Hanny of the Seraphone Collective, DJ Yeti, and many more.

The event goes until midnight. You can find more details about the benefit here. A GoFundMe employee relief fund has also been set up here.
