Aretha Franklin Amphitheatre announces summer concert season

For its inaugural season as The Aretha Franklin Amphitheater, the outdoor venue formerly known as Chene Park, has announced a diverse summer concert lineup as well as the return of its weekly Jazzy Nights series.

The weekend season, which kicks off on June 1 with a performance by KEM presented by soon-to-be-retired radio host Tom Joyner, will also feature a Father's Day doubleheader with Grammy Award-winning vocalist Charlie Wilson and Lalah Hathaway.

July will see the likes of Snoop Dogg, Warren G, and Bone Thugs-N-Harmony as well as Maxwell and Corinne Bailey Rae. Reggae pop mainstays UB40 will kick off August while A Flock of Seagulls will lead the "Lost 80's Live" event along with the Motels, Bow Wow Wow, Wang Chung, and others. The Empress of Soul Gladys Knight
will team up with Will Downing to close out the venue's weekend programming on August 11.

In addition to the star-studded season, Jazzy Nights will return starting on June 5 through Aug. 21. This year's iteration will feature Damien Escobar, PJ Morton, Najee, Kenny G, and others. Tickets for Jazzy Nights go on sale starting Friday, April 5 and start at $19.
