This week, I received the following press release from a kind person who reps ScoreBig, "an online marketplace for unsold ticket inventory that sits on a ton of data."
Misplaced modifiers aside, I'm intrigued by their recent conclusion regarding everyone's favorite band from Australia that Angus Young is in, especially because they contrast AC/DC with friggin Kenny Chesney, and the only mainstream modern country I myself ever care to hear is 100% recorded by Dwight Yoakam.
ScoreBig recently looked at ticket prices in the secondary market for AC/DC and found that the band is more popular in Detroit relative to other performers than they are on the coasts.
The company compared the average secondary market price per section and found that the average price is 161% higher than a Kenny Chesney show in Detroit, whereas tickets are only 2/3 the cost of a Kenny Chesney concert in New England. I thought it might interest you as the band embarks on their 40th anniversary tour later this summer when it hits Ford Field in September.
Oh, and that's right — I totally have neglected to blog about the fact that AC/DC is playing Detroit at Ford Field on Sept. 8! So glad they are all healthy enough to tour.
