Old-school New York-style pizza can now be found in Royal Oak at Pizza Paesano. Owners Steve Guerra, Dave Sullivan and Phil Sullivan make more than 20 varieties of pizzas, including such unusual ones as the surprisingly popular baked potato pizza. There’s also stuffed spinach pie, calzone, pesto pasta and lots of salad selections. Extra-large 18-inch pizzas are available, and you can even design your own pizza. Pizza Paesano also pays attention to the local arts and music scenes, displaying local artists’ work around the restaurant. Every Thursday night, there’s a live jazz, blues or rock performance. Credit cards are accepted, and delivery service is available. $1.25-$3.50 per slice.
