Secret Windsor wine lounge: Enter by fingerprint scanner
Vnoteca
The Canadians really have one-upped us this time, with the launch of a super-secret wine lounge to premiere next month. There is no sign or windows. And, get this, you need to scan your fingerprint to gain entry. Just minutes off the Windsor tunnel, the Vnoteca members-only wine lounge, will feature a walk-about pre fixe dinner, aptly-named Wine with Discretion, Aug. 19. In true underground supper club fashion, detailed directions to the venue will only be emailed once guests have purchased tickets (they go for 35 Canadian bucks a person, about $28 USD).

Organizers say the tasting will feature French Champagne, Riesling, and Bordeaux, which will be paired with handcrafted Charcuterie, cheese, raw, ice-pressed olive oil pizza by Dane Charles and dessert. To reserve, e-mail [email protected]

Sounds like a classy night, made all the more interesting with the secrecy behind the location. We can only hope more of these speakeasy-type events can make their way across the tunnel.
