Owner Luis Negrete announced on Monday via press release that his restaurant will close its South Main Street Royal Oak space. It will reopen on July 6 in a 7,000-square-foot, 100-seat location in the Crowne Plaza Hotel near Detroit's riverfront.
Many of the signature dishes - including ceviche, Ibérico cured loin croquettes, squid ink calamari, Galicia-style Octopus, and traditional Churros - will make the move with La Dulce. But more room in the new kitchen will also allow it to expand its menu to offer "large-scale dining experiences" including suckling pig and shareable paella.
The new spot also includes an open-air patio facing the Detroit River, and it will offer service daily for breakfast, lunch, dinner, and weekend brunch.
“We have absolutely loved our time in the Royal Oak community and will miss the neighborhood that embraced us as we built out footprint. We had an opportunity to be part of Detroit’s growing culinary scene that we couldn’t pass up – we’re so excited for our next step,” Negrete says.
