Everybody’s getting on the biergarten bandwagon. This weekend, Pewabic opens its annual house and garden show with a side of beer. Thanks to generous donations of beer from Atwater Brewery, Bell’s Brewery, Falling Down Beer Co., Griffin Claw Brewing Company, and New Holland. Beer will be sold at $5 per pint Saturday and Sunday, with proceeds going to support the Pewabic Education Studio. The beer vending will also feature Pewabic’s first-of-its-kind beer tankard, newly commissioned by Windmill Pointe Brewing. Biergarten visitors will be encouraged to participate in a “mobile brewing session” by hopping on a stationary bicycle to generate brewing power, sample each of the three trial porter beers, and vote on their favorites. The show takes place from noon-5 p.m., Saturday, June 7; and from noon-4 p.m. Sunday, June 8, at Pewabic Pottery (and opens one day earlier, sans beer, 10 a.m.-5 p.m. Friday, June 6), at 10125 E. Jefferson Ave., Detroit; 313-626-2000; pewabic.org.
