We are devastated by this news.

Detroit's burgeoning restaurant scene doesn't seem to making big enough waves to get a nod from Open Table. At least, none of them are apparently charming enough to appear on the dining guide's website in a listicle of the top 100 romantic restaurants in the country.

This list, which Open Table says it creates based on more than 12,000,000 reviews from over 26,000 verified diners, was released this week and includes several spots in nearby states like Ohio, Indiana, and Wisconsin — three states that are not exactly known for being capitals of romance, but we digress.

Michigan wasn't the only state snubbed, either. Alaska, Arkansas, Connecticut, District, Hawaii, Illinois, Iowa, Louisiana, Maine, Minnesota, Mississippi, Montana, North Dakota, South Dakota, Utah, Vermont, West Virginia, and Wyoming were all among the romance-less states.

While Open Table and all their "verified diners" might not think any of the Great Lakes States' restaurants are worthy of the list, we beg to differ. Here are a few lists of some of our favorite date night, romantic, and classic restaurants in and around metro Detroit. So there!
