Thai-inspired food truck Katoi is officially going brick and mortar. They are known for being parked out in front of – and providing food services for – Two James Spirits on Michigan Avenue in Corktown. Chef Brad Greenhill and crew have been operating out of converted SWAT van to serve up their version of Thai street food to the Two James bar crowd Tuesdays through Saturdays.
Offering up arguably the city's best bowl of ramen, Katoi also has a creative take on Thai street food, low and slow barbecue, noodles, and curries as well as seasonal vegetable dishes using as many locally sourced ingredients as possible.
Their new, permanent home will also be located in Corktown on Michigan Avenue. The plan is to have a full-service bar in addition to food services open for business this spring. Compared to the food truck that they have been operating out of for the past six months, the new establishment is enormous at nearly 2,000-square feet. They will also be bolstering their staff considerably from the four person team they are operating with currently.
